Ivan Finnegan is a creative, resourceful and ingenious designer who has been involved in the publishing and graphics arena for twenty years.

Educated in the UK and with a passion for typography, he eagerly searched for employment after graduation, ending up in the services of Dorling Kindersley, London. It was here that he acquired the skills & knowledge of page layout and book design under the watchful eye of some of the best in the business.

Moving to Australia in 1997 he continued to work purely in the book industry until a relocation to Sydney 1998 was the catalyst to freelancing. It was not long after this move that he was successfully working for most of the book publishers within the Sydney and Melbourne area, whilst also branching into magazines and corporate design - IF Design was born. Ivan worked both in-house in a team environment and from his studio, art directing various monthly magazines dealing with product & modelling photoshoots, briefing illustrators, printers, assistant designers and liaising with editors and authors.

Although many of Ivan’s designs are visible here this is just a small sample of his diverse range of work. Ivan holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Graphic Design from Coventry University, UK.
